Fintech service provider ViaBill has witnessed an uptick in a number of major retail categories this spring.
While tens of millions of American citizens are forced to shelter in place, ViaBill’s data shows that many are making more purchases in certain retail categories.
Looking at the most recent data through Q1 2020 reveals the following:
- A 106% increase in fashion sales
- A 50% increase in computer and accessories
- A 34% increase in health and wellness
- And a 16% increase in home and garden
“This data is interesting because it tracks consumer spending habits leading up to and at the beginning of the major COVID-19 sheltering that occurred here in the United States,” said ViaBill North American President Kristian Niedoborski Thøgersen.
